History has been tampered with.
Marcus Aemilius Lepidus has been condemned to 2070 years of oblivion.
The Universe of Lepidus gives back the voice that History silenced.
1. Giving Voice to Lepidus
How often has the person who did the hardest work remained in the shadows, while others took the glory?
It is from this question that Caesar’s Knight is born.
Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, in common memory, is often a marginal figure. Yet he was present, loyal, decisive. One of those men who hold History up without receiving credit.
In him I recognized something universal: the silent dignity of those who remain steadfast in their values, even when the world looks elsewhere.
With this book, with this website, and with the entire Universe of Lepidus, my mission is simple: give him a voice. To try to remedy, at least in part, an injustice lasting two thousand years.
2. History as a Living Passion
My passion for History comes from far away. As a child I was fascinated by the ancient Egyptians, hieroglyphs, the mysteries of the past.
Growing up I realized something that has never left me: history is not dust, not boredom, not something dead. It is a mirror of humanity.
I am Roman, and for me Rome has never been just a city. It has been a living school. Museums, Roman Forum, Colosseum, reading, documentaries, study, video games, research: everything has contributed to building this imagery.
Caesar’s Knight was born exactly from here: from the meeting of curiosity, study, imagination, and love for Republican Rome.
I didn't just want to tell a story. I wanted to bring the reader inside a world.
3. A Personal Mission
The Ides of March, for me, have never been just a historical date. March 15 was my father Emilio's birthday.
For this reason that event has always had a special weight in my life. Over time I felt that the bond between my personal story, Rome and Lepidus became ever deeper.
I am Roman. I love Rome. And I feel a special affinity with Marcus Aemilius Lepidus: we share a name, and in some way also a destiny in the shadows.
This mission is also born from here. From the desire to honor my father. From the need to give space to a forgotten figure. From the conviction that certain stories deserve to be finally heard.
The Universe of Lepidus exists for this:
to remember, to tell, to restore dignity.
